IFR Renewal

While it is always possible to renew your IFR rating in flight, an alternative is available for Cargair’s clients. Cargair has at your disposal a highly sophisticated flight training device, the level 5 Mechtronix, approved by Transport Canada for IFR renewals. The candidates who wish to renew their IFR on the FTD have two configuration choices: either using the Beechcraft King Air 200 (BE20 turbine) or the Beechcraft Baron 58 (BE55 light twin).

IFR Currency (6-6-6)

As per the Canadian Aviation Regulations with regard to IFR flying, all pilots who wish to fly IFR must at the very least stay current using the 6/6/6 rule: each pilot must complete six hours of IFR flying, including six IFR approaches, in the proceeding six months before the IFR flight. Cargair offers you the possibility to complete the six hours in a level 5 FTD, either in the BE20 (turbine) or BE55 (light twin) configuration. The program allows you to review the basic IFR procedures as well as advanced IFR procedures.

Because the majority of traditional training is done with single-pilot operational focus (CPL/IFR), it becomes crucial to understand the basic principles of multi-crew work before working for an airline company.
