IFR Renewal
While it is always possible to renew your IFR rating in flight, an alternative is available for Cargair’s clients. Cargair has at your disposal a highly sophisticated flight training device, the level 5 Mechtronix, approved by Transport Canada for IFR renewals. The candidates who wish to renew their IFR on the FTD have two configuration choices: either using the Beechcraft King Air 200 (BE20 turbine) or the Beechcraft Baron 58 (BE55 light twin).
IFR Currency (6-6-6)
As per the Canadian Aviation Regulations with regard to IFR flying, all pilots who wish to fly IFR must at the very least stay current using the 6/6/6 rule: each pilot must complete six hours of IFR flying, including six IFR approaches, in the proceeding six months before the IFR flight. Cargair offers you the possibility to complete the six hours in a level 5 FTD, either in the BE20 (turbine) or BE55 (light twin) configuration. The program allows you to review the basic IFR procedures as well as advanced IFR procedures.
CRM & MCC
CRM (Crew Resource Management) and MCC (multi-crew cooperation) is essential training for those working in a multi-crew environment. The training shows the importance of efficient communication in the cockpit and makes the candidate aware of the psychological aspects that can surface in flight. Because the majority of traditional training is done with single-pilot operational focus (CPL/IFR), it becomes crucial to understand the basic principles of multi-crew work before working for an airline company.
GPS
Use of the GPS in aviation has evolved. Cargair offers you the possibility to perfect your VFR and IFR training to include the new GPS procedures and guidelines. The GPS course covers the basic principles of GPS as well as the proper use for enroute and approach phases of flight. Both FTDs and all four Piper Aztecs at Cargair are equipped with the Garmin 430 GPS.
Beechcraft King Air 100 Training
Cargair Ltd. offers all holders of a commercial license with multi-IFR ratings the possibility to complete a twin turbine type rating on a King Air BE10.
Airline Preparation Training
Pilots lucky enough to succeed during the interview process with a Canadian airline can follow a preparation course with us. The Airline Preparation Training will help to prepare the candidate for the simulator check ride at the airline. We will complete 2 to 4 hours in an FTD to help develop the necessary competencies.
For more than 20 years Cargair has trained pilots currently working all over the world in many various levels of aviation. We have benefited from their experience and created a short training course which can help to better prepare candidates to pass the highly stressful simulator check ride.
Joint European ATPL Training
Exclusively offered by two aeronautical training centers, Air-Espace and Cargair, you can complete the European ATPL training via Canada and Switzerland.
Completing your Canadian CPL/IFR training will lead you to Switzerland, where you will partake in a six month internship where you will perfect your ATPL JAA theory via distance training, and where you will prepare for the JAA CPL/IFR flight test. Our training program respects Canadian, ICAO and JAA regulations and requirements.
