Converting to a Canadian license is simple if you are the holder of a license obtained in a
ICAO member country.
You will have to pass a medical exam by an approved
Transport Canada physician in order to receive a medical certificate. Furthermore, you
must pass two written exams, one on Canadian regulations and another on radio procedures.
You will then receive a Canadian license if you meet these requirements:
- a minimum of 45 hours total time
- 5 hours of instrument time (simulated or actual)
- a 150 nautical mile pilot in command cross-country flight which includes 3 stops
For further information on these procedures or to convert another type of license or rating,
please contact Richard Laporte at (514) 217-2041 or by email at
