Recreational Pilot Permit
|
To make general aviation more accessible to the public, Cargair offers the Transport Canada
recreational pilot permit, which can be completed in 25 hours. The candidate must complete a
written exam and flight test, be at least 16 years old, and pass a medical examination.

Private Pilot License
|
Your first steps in the aviation world begin with either a recreational pilot permit or a private
pilot license. To obtain a private license, the aspiring pilot must satisfy the following Transport
Canada minimum requirements: provide a valid medical certificate, complete at least 40 hours of
ground school training, 45 hours of flight training, a written examination, and a flight test.

Commercial Pilot license
|
The commercial pilot license is required to fly professionally. The candidate must first hold a
private pilot license and then complete an intensive flight program of 35 hours dual, 30 hours
solo training. The student must accumulate 200 flight hours, of which 100 must be solo. A 40-hour
theory course is also required, followed by both a written and a flight test.
